Trick or Treat 2014

This year Dean dress as Karl from the movie Up! His new cousin Henry dressed as Russell! They were so perfect! Dean even won the costume contest at the Country Club in his age group!
Sadie debuted at her first trick or treating trip as a cotton boll!

The kids had a blast this year!

For inspiration and ideas I used or didn't use for these costumes see my costume board on pinterest:

Sadie's Nursery

Sadie's nursery has a navy, coral, and gold color scheme with mint accents. I wanted it to be girly without being so girly it couldn't grow with her. I have to thank my mom for sewing the bedding again! I created the prints and printed myself for her collage over her bed. I made felt roses to jazz up the lamp shade over her bed as a mobile. Painted the junk store dresser and old door headboard, I made for my room as a teen, to match. Then, Dean and I painted the canvas in the coordinating colors. I am very please with how it turned out, pictures just don't do it justice in my opinion. With the contrast of navy walls and white wainscoting, it is almost impossible to get a good picture, for this non-photographer!

Here is the board of all the ideas I used and some I didn't. Enjoy!

Welcoming Sadie!

Our sweet baby girl came into this world on October 7, 2014. Everything went well and she was a sweet tempered healthy baby girl from the start. Daddy and big brother couldn't be prouder.

 Meeting big brother!

 Coming home!

Birth announcements came later after we had time for a photoshoot. :)

Dino Dean turns 3!

Dino Dean's 3rd Birthday was so much fun! Dean loves his dinosaurs so what a fitting birthday party theme for this guy! He was so in love with the cake which made it all worth worth the time to make. :)
Snacks included dinosaur shaped sandwiches, snack mix, spinach dip,  sand pudding cups with green punch to drink.
We had a dino dig in the sandbox. Made bones out of plaster of paris and sand box dinosaur bone molds for them to dig up and assemble the finished product.
Sadie made an appearance at only a couple of weeks old.
We had a dino egg hunt. Once done finding them, they smashed the eggs and sprayed with vinegar to find the baby dinosaur inside.

Here is the board I used to collect ideas in my planning process. Some I used; some I didn't.
